How to choose a suitable service format
Choosing the right format for a printing service is not just about aesthetic preferences. 300g/m² paper with matte lamination offers a different feel than 250g/m² with a glossy finish, and costs and production time vary significantly. For example, for a set of 500 business cards, a standard 85×55mm format with straight corners reduces the price by approximately 15% compared to one with rounded corners and gold foil. Additionally, paper texture influences readability: on a dark background, text written with silver ink can be hard to read if the paper has a rough texture. Practical limits also include the minimum order quantity – some custom formats, such as those with embossing, require a print run of at least 200 pieces to justify the die preparation costs. So, before choosing, check the technical specifications and ask about sample options: a physical sample can reveal details that an on-screen image cannot reproduce.
